Roger Wiart CFP®, RRC, B.Ed, BP.Edt
Following a brief tenure in the education sector, Roger decided that his calling was in financial services. It was almost a lateral move as education is so important in the areas of personal finance that Roger knew he could create lasting impact in clients’ lives using his skills. Since then, Roger has continued to build on his knowledge by obtaining the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Registered Retirement Consultant designations. This has been invaluable in providing tailored financial plans specifically designed for lawyers.
Collaboration is important to Roger as he believes that working together helps everyone to reach success, whatever that may look like. This is what started the conversation to bring the team together in 2019 and eventually would go on to be recognized as the Financial Planning Team of the Year in 2020 within their region (based on a demonstrated commitment to full financial planning).
Roger is a devoted family man with a loving wife and three kids. You can catch him on the sidelines of his children’s ringette, basketball, and volleyball games encouraging them to get out and have fun! Outside of that, Roger is in avid biker and runner. To keep things fresh and challenging, he’s often participating in triathlons to see how far he can push himself. When he’s not on a bike or the trails, a glass of fine wine, gourmet food, and a smelly cheese or two will hit the spot. This usually pairs well with a good old Edmonton Oilers hockey game. And whether on the road to the Stanley Cup or trying to figure out their footing, Roger is cheering on the home team regardless!

Andy Akle BA, BComm, CFP®
Entrepreneurship runs in Andy’s family and when the opportunity to help people in their financial lives presented itself to him in 2013, he didn’t hesitate to start his career. Andy graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and finance. In addition to this, he obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation as part of his commitment to building strong financial plans for clients. Having grown up in the family restaurant business, he solidified for himself the values of hard work and building relationships.
Andy soon realized that financial literacy is something that is neither taught well enough nor easy to learn. The opportunity to share this knowledge is the motivation for him each day when meeting with clients. He truly believes in empowering people to feel confident in their finances by understanding the tools and strategies. This is especially evident in his planning work with healthcare professionals and their families.
Family is very important to Andy. This value drives everything that he does. He’s no stranger to the dance competition scene, taxiing his daughter from practice to the stage. He’s also behind the soccer bench, “highly encouraging” his son and the team. And of course, he cannot forget his loving wife of 15+ years. Food and travel is their getaway from everything to just enjoy each other’s company.
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. - Albert Schweitzer
Sharon Mullaney
It’s all in the details for Sharon. Being a detail focused person allows her to excel in everything related to practice operations. Sharon started off her career with IG Wealth Management as a client service representative and quickly moved to work with Roger and the team in the entrepreneurial channel. She’s been in financial services since 2015.
As the team's operations lead, Sharon thrives on making sure everything runs smoothly when it comes to processes involving clients, team members, and head office. This allows her to also build strong relationships with clients.
When not looking at paperwork or researching things for clients, Sharon loves spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren! This could look like playing games at home, having sleepovers, or camping outside in the beautiful summer nights. She really enjoys seeing family in Scotland as well. They say the easiest way to the heart is through the stomach and that rings true in her family. Taking time to put together a meal or baking some treats (like her lemon blueberry streusel muffins) is something that helps her unwind and bring the family together.
Toni Zendran
Toni started her career in the financial industry in 2017, without it even being on her radar. Her path started with studies in design and photography at MacEwan University in 2012, after which she found herself enjoying working with clients and building relationships in the finance world. These skills that she developed in her previous employment are further nurtured with the team at Wiart Pearson Akle & Associates, as Toni has the opportunity to work even more closely with clients.
Toni’s focus as the client experience consultant is on ensuring clients are well taken care of before, during, and after their interactions with the team. She’s also heavily relied on for compliance due diligence and coordination of client files. And finally, to allow for her creativity to shine through, Toni’s also the team’s design expert when it comes to many of the meeting and marketing elements.
To unwind, Toni thoroughly enjoys photography and she specializes in boudoir, weddings, and other “out-of-the-box” projects that present themselves to her. She loves foraging for mushrooms and other plant life in the grand Alberta woodlands, canning jams, and pickling snacks.
